SOURCE NINE has been received 31 times since June 2018. It originates from fixed coordinates. Its complexity index is 0.99. The variation between transmissions is statistically correlated with our own transmission activity.
The most recent event lasted 47 minutes. It was the longest and most complex transmission received. The interval between events is not random, but the pattern has not been decoded.

Station Kairos operates a 64-element phased array radio telescope system monitoring the 1.2–2.0 GHz spectrum continuously. The array is located at 35.2° N, 116.8° W, at an elevation of 1,200 meters, minimizing terrestrial radio frequency interference.
All signals are processed through a multi-stage pipeline: raw digitization at 4 Gsps, RFI excision, coherent dedispersion, and automated anomaly flagging using a complexity index threshold of 0.65. Signals above this threshold are queued for human review.
The station has been in continuous operation since 2017. In that time, it has processed approximately 2.4 × 10¹⁴ bytes of raw signal data. Of this, 8 signals have been retained in the permanent archive. 5 remain unresolved.
